Tube Motor Roller Shutter Specification

Roller Curtain
The shutter curtain is constructed from cold rolled galvanised concave steel laths, 76mm x 22 swg, other gauges may be supplied depending on the shutter width. An option of flat lath is available. Each lath is retained by pressed steel end locks fixed with galvanised steel rivets.

Bottom Rail
A rigid inverted 'L' section bottom rail formed from a cold rolled galvanised section.

Side Guide and Angles
A purpose cold rolled 65mm deep galvanised guide section is fitted on the none drive end to a galvanised angle or a primed mild steel flat depending on the fixing application. The 65mm guide section is packed off at the drive end of the shutter by a 50 or 75mm packer to allow access to the emergency hand crank mechanism and the motor travel limits. (On large applications the guide size may be increased)

Roller Barrel
A mild steel tube encases the 240 volt tubular motor. The main body of the motor is fixed to the door endplate and the outer body rotates the barrel, opening and closing the door.

Roller Bracket Plates
3mm thick glavanised steel, either 250mm sq., 300mm sq., or 350mm sq. are fixed to the supporting angles or flats, complete with cleats for hoods or facias if required.

Finish
Side guides, supporting angles and door curtain are galvanised. Flats if required are painted red/grey oxide.
Powder coated finish is optional and can be provided at extra cost.

Electrical Specification
The motors are 240 volt motors and are encased in the roller tube. Motors can be supplied with or without emergency hand crank facility. We would always recommend emergency hand crank facility to raise the door in the event of a power failure. Normal operation is by a key switch. Remote control by key fob type transmitter is available at extra cost.

Power Requirements
A single phase 13 amp fused spur is required (within 1 metre of each door opening) for each tube motor installation. For multiple installations, group controllers can be supplied at extra cost.

Perforated / Punched Lath Sections
Perforated or punched laths can be supplied at additional cost and are supplied galvanised unless specified otherwise.
